Despite our increasingly digitalized world, trade fairs still provide the best opportunity for bringing people together and talking about currently pending projects and offers. In 2019, we were already extremely active in attending numerous trade fairs on different continents, and this is something we will not only be keeping up in 2020 but also extending.
At a total of 13 trade fairs on four different continents, BLEFA will be represented either with its own exhibition stands or by our trading partners. Besides our broad range of stainless steel KEGs, we will also be presenting new products and concepts, aimed at maintaining BLEFA’s status as a trusted partner for all breweries.
Our 2020 trade fair year begins in March at the SIBA Beer X, which belongs to the BEVIALE FAMILY (Brau Beviale). In the two days from 11 – 12 March, BLEFA will be exhibiting a product range tailored precisely to the UK market, and, in addition to our new BLEFA stainless steel kegs, this will also be supplemented by interesting keg rental solutions.
From 24 – 26 March, together with Rausch & Partner from Gießen, our first stop in Russia is at the Beviale Moscow, where Rausch & Partner will be presenting their service portfolio, covering new kegs, used kegs and keg services.
The next stop on the tour will be San Antonio, Texas, USA for the Craft Brewers Conference which will be held from 19 – 22 April. The CBC has proved a great attraction for US craft brewers since its inception in 1996 and is now, in its 24th year, a permanent fixture in our trade fair calendar. This year, the organisers are expecting around 1000 exhibitors and some 13,000 visitors. And, as always, the event will be rounded off by a series of technical lectures and presentations.
In the busy month of May, BLEFA will be attending a total of three trade fairs. The first date takes our tour to the continent of Africa; South Africa to be precise and the Craft Brewers Powwow in Cape Town. From 15 – 17 May, together with our partners Dematech, we’ll be providing craft brewers with advice and support. Besides the exhibition itself, the highlights of the Powwow also include specialist lectures and numerous awards.
Immediately afterwards, we head for the Beer in the Russian city of Sochi, ending our long absence there. Scheduled from May 19th to 21st, this is another event we will be attending together with Rausch & Partner.
Closing out the events in May will be a return trip to North America, this time taking us to Canada. What the CBC is for the USA, the Canadian Brewing Conference is for Canada. The event is being hosted from 28. – 30.05. in Victoria (BC) for the 18th time altogether and is an absolute must for all Canadian craft brewers.
The summer season sees us return to Europe, where we’ll be setting out our stall as exhibitors at the Brewers of Europe in Brussels on the 3rd and 4th June. The first fair took place very successfully in Antwerp in 2018. As with the previously mentioned events, this is also a combination of exhibition and specialist talks and lectures.
In July, there are two more trades fairs on our schedule, meaning there will be no summer break this year. The first, the Craft Drinks India, takes place on 01 – 02 July in Bengaluru – the secret craft beer capitol of India.
Then at the end of the month, from 29 – 31 July, we cross the big pond yet again. Our destination this time is the Beviale Mexico in Guadalajara. For BLEFA, it’s our first time at this event and we’re already quite excited about the impressions it will make on us and the meetings and conversations we’ll have with customers there.
After taking a brief creative break in August, it all takes off again in September with the VLB Conference in Barcelona. VLB events have always been associated with intensive exchanges of experiences between absolute professionals, a highly interesting exhibition and countless lectures and talks from the brewing sector.
November is the month of the annual classic which is still the highlight of the trade fair year. This year’s Brau Beviale in Nuremberg takes place from 10 – 12 November and marks the conclusion of the current three-year cycle. The Brau Beviale is regarded as the leading exhibition for the brewing industry and we will of course be attending with our own stand.
Also in 2020, the trip to Japan will bring an exciting trade fair year to a close. Together with our Japanese partner Nagano Trading, we will be setting up our joint stand at the Drink Japan and presenting our stainless steel kegs “Made in Germany” from 25 – 27 November, as well as offering as much advice and support to Japanese craft brewers as we can.
There is an overview of all BLEFA events at https://www.blefakegs.us/about-blefa/news-events-and-dates/. It’s well worthwhile checking up from time to time to see if any new ones have been added. In any case, we are certainly looking forward to an exciting year and talking to lots of very interesting people.
